On May 8th, 2025, the award ceremony of the CISM–Città di Udine International Research Fellowship 2025 took place at the Torre Santa Maria of Palazzo Torriani in Udine.
The event featured the participation of Alberto Felice De Toni, Mayor of Udine; Federico Pirone, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Udine; Roberto Pinton, Rector of the University of Udine; Stefano Romanino, Director of SISSA; Mario Pezzetta, President of CISM; and Antonio De Simone, Secretary General of CISM and President of the Fellowship Jury.
The 2025 Fellowship was awarded to:
- Eva Kanso (USA) and Pietro Cicuta (UK)
Project: “From cells to organs: The Multiscale Physics of Fluid Transport in Ciliated Systems” - Henry Alston (France) and Luca Cocconi (Germany)
Project: “Optimal control by noisy traps”
The ceremony concluded with a concert by the DUO Perfetto, featuring music by José Bragato, an Argentinian-Italian composer and cellist born in Udine, renowned for his contributions to classical and tango music, and for his collaborations with Astor Piazzolla.
