RESULTS - CISM-CITTÀ DI UDINE INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

We are pleased to announce the results of the evaluations for the prestigious “CISM-Città di Udine Fellowship” for the year 2025.

The fellowship received a large number of high-quality applications, making the selection process both challenging and exciting. The jury members, led by President Antonio De Simone and including Marino Arroyo, Silvia Budday, Vikram Deshpande, Anke Lindner, Giuseppe Marrucci, Paolo Podio-Guidugli, Andrea Rinaldo, and Howard Stone, faced the difficult task of selecting the fellowship winners from among many talented candidates.

After careful deliberation, we are proud to announce the winners of the 2025 CISM-Città di Udine Fellowship and future “Scientific Ambassadors of the City of Udine”:

  • Eva Kanso (USA) and Pietro Cicuta (UK)
Project: "From cells to organs: The Multiscale Physics of Fluid Transport in Ciliated Systems"
  • Harry Alston (France) and Luca Cocconi (Germany)
Project: "Optimal control by noisy traps"

In addition to the fellowship winners, the jury awarded special recognition to the following candidates:

Project: "Thin-film flows over multiscale curved rigid and soft surfaces"
  • Vivek Dabade (India) and Raghav Venkatraman (USA)
Project: "Modeling, analysis and experiments of magnetoelastic slender structures"

These exceptional candidates have been invited to submit an application for a CISM Advanced School.

We congratulate all the awardees and look forward to their contributions to scientific research and their role as ambassadors of the City of Udine.
