CISM is pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 Città di Udine International Research Fellowship, awarded to two outstanding research teams for their innovative contributions in the field of mechanics of materials.

The first awarded project is “Self-organization and Memory in Driven Disordered Materials”, is led by Muhittin Mungan (Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany) and Damien Vandembroucq (CNRS, Laboratoire PMMH, ESPCI Paris, France).

The second awarded project is “Dimension Reduction for Magnetoelastic Composites: Rigorous Derivation of Rod Models via a Single-Field Formulation”, by Martin Kružík (Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic) and Giuseppe Tomassetti (Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy).

The award ceremony will take place in Udine onJune 11, 2026. More details will be provided soon.

CISM congratulates all the awardees for the excellence and originality of their research and looks forward to hosting them in Udine for the development of these promising scientific collaborations.
